After School Treat...

We DO scream for ice cream...especially Dairy Queen! Yuuuummm!

Good to the last drop!

Regrettable Purchases...

#1
So this disturbing little number came from where else but the illustrious Ventura College Flea Market...as you can see it's a combo of Batman/Mexican Wrestling Federation...the kid wore me down and I pulled out way too much money for this silly thing...($8!)

#2Harmless bug catching kit for the 2 yr old and skateboard bound to induce bumps, bruises, scrapes and broken bones for the 4 yr old! Yikes! :[

My Running Partner...

The poor 2nd child...
the only one-on-one activity Jakey and I have done together was a swimming class when he was a few months. But this past few months I've tried to make up for it...while Luke has been at AWANAS on Thur nights Jake and I go to the Y and swim (but we never tell Luke :() or we head down to the beach while I run, push my little beefcake in the stroller and then stop at the park to play for a bit...it's a win-win.
I am so in love with my little man right now (well, I always love him but you know what I mean) he's just so dang sweet, feisty, cute, funny and fun to be around...this was one of those sweet nights we had together a couple weeks ago!

Interesting approach...

Loaded up for the run back...

My Therapy...

Buying a motorcycle was one of the best things I've EVER done!!!

I needed some therapy today so the closest (and best) thing was to get on my bike. "We" went out from 1:30-4:30 for a 90 mile ride...thru Casitas, to Carp and back home through Ojai and Santa Paula. Even though the wind was howlin' crazy I didn't feel it...must of just been my day!

Took a little break in Carp along the cliff...

felt a slight urge to jump but decided not to...

so I stood on the tracks for a few minutes instead...just kidding

Decided to just sit and contemplate life instead...unfortunately I haven't got it all figured out yet!

Potty Power!

I have been fortunate with two things when it comes to child-rearing...

1) breastfeeding was an amazingly easy and rewarding experience
2) both my boys potty trained very easily

Over a month ago Jake decided that it was time; he would no longer be wearing diapers and upgraded to
SuperHero UnderRoos...three days later he went to school without an accident (yes, I too was saying, what an amazing child!! haha)...

Well, as potty training goes there are often "interesting" comments and conversations that take place while mastering this skill. Case in point...this afternoon Jake went to the bathroom and says, "Look it's yellow. My favorite color is yellow!"

Then Luke told his little brother to "pull my finger" at the breakfast table this morning...I know this is just the beginning too....:{

Mom's Day Run in Reno

Spent the weekend with my great friend Kate in Reno. Kat, Kate and I hit the spa Saturday and then powered through a 5K race on Mother's Day!

The 4,000 foot elevation did a number on me!! I finished in the top 10% (786 runners) which I was happy with but my legs felt like led the entire run and I almost coughed up a lung! Yikes!
I'll stick to sea level running thank-you-very-much!

At Chuckee Cheese's

I've been a MIA blogger...

Luke wears this randomly...middle of the day, first thing in the morning...who needs a special occasion to wear a dress shirt, slacks & tie, NOT him! In addition to the placement of the clip-on tie the best part is that several times he's insisted on wearing the vest UNDER the shirt, then as he peels off the layers he eventually just tromps around in a shirtless vest...innnnteressssting! He's so cute though I don't have the heart to tell him it looks a little too Fabio-ish!

And that is how my little angel is ALL-DAY-LONG! (cough, NOT!) But he sure is cute when he's chillin'!

You watch...someday you may just read this headline...
World renowned scientist began experimenting in his garage with water, milk, Cheerios, pasta, cereal and a random selection of kitchen tools.

While Luke was dressed to the 9s for many months (yes, in dresses - how could you forget) Jake was determined (so I thought) not going to follow suit. But once we got to Jen's house with all the princess "fixin's" I guess he just couldn't help himself. By the look on his face think he's struggling with the concept anymore?

Manly look for a girlie pose...
To me his look says "I own this place!"!
