Disneyland - Our First Trip

Yesterday we headed out to conquer Disneyland. We had a GREAT time! Cool weather (light rain for 20 min), no lines, junk food, souvernirs, great moods, fun, fun, fun!

Upon arrival Luke intently accesses the park layout while Jake enthusiastically spots his first
destination on the map.

Jake & his Rock Star Grandma on a mission on Main St.!!

First ride!

Not so sure his horse won't buck him off.

Two of my most favorite people...XO

Sugar spun in a bag - pure bliss!

Waiting in the 5 min line at Small World...it was as awesome as I remembered as a kid!

And another one of my Favorites!

The princesses were as sweet as you could imagine!

This is one of those surreal moments/pics where you imagine your 4 yr old in about 12 years going to his first prom.
What a handsome guy! I wonder who the lucky girl will be...Ariel?!

Looks like a serious road trip based on Jake's expression.

In line for a rollercoaster...even Jakey and I went on.
Everyone did great, except Gma and I were a bit queasy (figures)!

Jakey really gave it his best shot!

Luke loved the characters while Jake wanted nothing to do with them.

Jake's churro/flute

Waiting for the parade...in the sprinkling rain.

Bag O' Disney Figures for Jakey

Perfect ending to a perfect day...

Finger Lickin' Good Fun

Our new 4-animal pancake pan (another Target purchase)!
The cool monkey didn't make it into the picture because I had already eaten him...doused with raspberry jam and powdered sugar....yuuuuummm!

Proof that they were "delicioso"!

Feb. 15, 2010...amazing 80 degree day in So. CA!!
And to think of all those sorry souls in "cold country"!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is a lousy picture for a very cute idea.
I got the idea from a friend who posted a heart garland on her blog.
Aubrei, you've inspired quite a few of us as I've seen others popping up in friend's houses and blogs. Thanks for sharing another of your festive & eco-friendly crafty ideas!

Thanks Grandma for the $$, card and stickers...

You can see I've put the stickers to good use!
Luke loves his too goodies too Gma, he just wasn't up for the paparazzi this morning.

Here is Luke with his vest for Awana along with the badge (round red one) he earned
for reciting his first scripture.
God loved us...and sent his son. (1 John 4:10)
.
He was so proud as was I, of course!

Awana is fun with a purpose – to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

I can't believe it! Today, Sunday, Feb. 7th appx 9:20 am I went out for my first-ever ride on my new Harley! It was amazing, exhilarating, a bit nerve racking at times and all I hoped it would be!

Tooth Fairy

For some reason, unbeknownst to me the past few months Luke has been intrigued by the Tooth Fairy and is eagerly anticipating her or his (as he's minorly convinced "she" is a he) arrival. I have explained that it will be several more years before he loses his baby teeth but to no avail.

In desperation to be in the "lose tooth club" Luke has resorted to breaking a piece of Styrofoam into teeth-size pieces and hiding them under his pillow at night. The 1st night of this ritual he put one piece under his pillow and squealed with delight when he discovered it was gone in the morning. So, before he was struck with the disappointing reality that it was indeed still there I jumped out of bed to find the "tooth" stuck to his flannel sheets and snagged it!

The 2nd night the babysitter put the boys to bed and informed me that there was a small "anthill" of Styrofoam stashed there. Thanks for the heads up, Taylor! So I swooped in, scooped a handful out, threw it in the trasth and went to bed. In the morning my dear boy was was once again pleasantly surprised he had tricked the Tooth Fairy.

Last night I decided to nip this in the bud. I wrote a note with a big picture of the tooth, it went something like this..."Luke, You tricked me again Silly Boy! I'll be back when you start losing your "real" teeth, til then be on your best behavior and no more jokes!" He thought that was the greatest - that he tricked her/him.

Well, as cute and fun as this was I'm glad this is done, one less "ritual" I have to remember do at night!!
